The Doodle Den opened in Brookfield with a narrow focus that turned out to be its biggest draw: owner Priya Nair got tired of watching doodle owners leave other salons with a shaved-down, unrecognizable dog, and built a studio around doing the "teddy bear" trim properly — scissor work by hand, breed-appropriate length, no shortcuts with clippers on a coat that doesn't want them.
That same hand-work extends to wire-coated terriers, where the team still hand-strips rather than clips, keeping the coat's texture and color the way breed standards intend. Because both techniques take real time per dog, the schedule fills up fast — especially heading into shedding season, when regulars book three weeks out just to keep their spot.
